Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra
In the midst of an unprecedented pandemic, many rituals we hold dear are no longer possible. As we find our footing in this new terrain, faith leaders have enlisted New York City artists and Lincoln Center to offer a weekly Memorial For Us All. Music unlocks thoughts, feelings, and memories that unite and free us. These memorials allow music to begin to heal us all, as it has in so many rituals since the beginning of time.Sebring Revolution created these pieces with footage captured only by the orchestra members in their homes during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
MORE ABOUT THE MOSTLY MOZART FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA The Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, led since 2003 by Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langrée, is the resident orchestra of Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival. A beloved cultural icon of New York City, the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra is dedicated to the music of its namesake composer as well as works inspired by the spirit of Mozart, including fully-staged operas, dance, and repertoire that straddles four centuries. It has appeared on tour at such notable festivals and venues as Tanglewood, Ravinia, Great Woods, the Kennedy Center, and Tokyo’s Bunkamura. Conductors who made their New York debuts leading the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra include Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Edward Gardner, Jérémie Rhorer, David Zinman, and Edo de Waart. Mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli, flutist James Galway, soprano Elly Ameling, and pianist Mitsuko Uchida all made their U.S. debuts with the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra.
Memorial For Us All is a secular community remembrance, welcoming all to celebrate the lives of those who have left us too soon.
